受け技について/About receiving technique
I think that the receiving inside style of Genseiryu is a very basic skill that can instinctively avoid any opponent's thrust, but I have never practiced in the university karate club.In Genseiryu, I also practiced taking the opponent's hand by putting a hand from the bottom of the palm, the arc hammer, or the hand sword. All of these are basic movements that can be found in old-fashioned katas, but they were rarely used in training in the university karate club. The university karate club wasn't in the conpetition game, so why wouldn't practice those? The only thing I think now is that the college karate club was a young group, so they wasn't interested in anything technical, so I guessed that their priority was to keep moving. In fact, many people, even if they were black belts, thought that they were not good at just looking at the shape. However, in a long karate life, I wonder if there may be a time when such a priority is given to physical activity.By the way, the shoutei-uke was called the teishou-uke in the university karate club. Depending on the book, both nicknames are introduced as correct, but here the shoutei-uke (the bottom of the palm) fits the writer's sense (since it has been so named since elementary school), so unify it.
