Chinese Tourists Stab Three Security Guards in Pattaya Bar After Being Ejected
The incident occurred at around 11:36 p.m. at a popular bar and live music venue on South Pattaya Road. Police from Pattaya City Police Station, along with tourist police and rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a stabbing involving tourists.
At the site, rescuers found three injured Thai security guards:
– One, known by the nickname “Boe,” suffered a severe stab wound to the upper abdomen and was in critical condition. – A second, nicknamed “Om,” was stabbed in the right arm. – The third, nicknamed “Cherm,” sustained a stab wound to the right leg.
All three received immediate first aid before being urgently transported to a nearby hospital. Other patrons inside the bar were left in a state of shock, though no additional injuries were reported among customers.
According to the bar manager’s statement to police, the trouble began when a group of Chinese tourists got into a verbal argument with a woman inside the establishment. Security staff intervened and escorted the disruptive individuals out to prevent the situation from escalating and disturbing other guests.
However, the ejected tourists reportedly returned shortly afterward with reinforcements and launched a retaliatory attack, stabbing the guards multiple times with knives before fleeing the scene.
Officers managed to detain one Chinese man from the group at the venue. He had sustained a head injury during the melee and was covered in blood. He received preliminary medical treatment before being taken to hospital and then into custody for questioning. Authorities are using his testimony to track down the remaining suspects who escaped.
Pattaya City Police Chief Col. Anek Sratong-ue has ordered roadblocks and checkpoints based on witness descriptions of the fleeing assailants. Investigation teams from Pattaya police and tourist police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering further evidence to apprehend the full group and bring them to justice.
The name of the bar and suspect were being withheld as of press time pending further investigation and the capture of the other suspects.
