Vocabulary and Sample Sentences
- concentrate (verb): to focus your mind on something– Daniel says he can concentrate better at night when it’s quiet.
- distract (verb): to take someone’s attention away from what they are doing– Music distracts Emma when she studies.
- silence (noun): complete quiet; no sound– Emma prefers silence when she studies.
- scroll (verb): to move up or down on a screen to look at content– Daniel sometimes scrolls through his phone before bed.
- recommended (adjective or verb): suggested as a good or wise thing to do– Using your phone before bed is not always recommended.– I recommend doing your homework before you play video games.
