120 Ratings Best Offline Shogi AppI’ve tried many mobile apps for offline shogi, and I can confidently say that PiyoShogi is the best.PiyoShogi allows you to play against a wide variety of CPU opponents, with a range of different opening strategies and time controls. You can also play “rated” games to track your current level of play.This app shines most when it comes to kifu analysis. You can easily paste kifu from the clipboard on the main screen. You can also pull Shogi Wars kifu using the “Wars Record” button.The new daily mate problem feature is also excellent. Other apps will force you to find the shortest mate, but PiyoShogi allows you to find any mate against its strongest CPU. You can later go back and find faster mates.Overall, I’m very satisfied with PiyoShogi and I’m glad to see that it’s still under active development. Highly recommended.

Language won’t changeAt the bottom of the settings tab it says you can change the language by choosing the language that you want and then restarting the app to change it. I restarted it and nothing happened!

Amazing shogi app!!Everything within the app is very good, including multiple piece design options and MANY levels of AI that will suit anybody, the option to play with time or without, (limited) hints and redo’s, rated games vs AI and a system of kyu/dan ranks, game analysis and opening moves tips.. very good app overall! my only request is - could you add the typical shogi piece sounds? I love the sound of shogi pieces hitting the board and this app would be much better with them!

Best shogi app but needs paid versionVery cute and I love the sounds and animation and I see that there is an ad free version but it is a monthly fee. Pls make a paid version (maybe $10) and I’ll pay for it.

Improved handling when receiving game records from other apps such as LINE. 5.6.9- Added a [Resign] button to the game screen. - You can now [Resign] in Mate Problem as well, and then immediately tap [Retry].
